The Rising Star Award will be presented to a Metropolitan Washington, DC region structural engineer from one of our member firms. SEA-MW would like to recognize a structural engineer who is positively impacting the profession of structural engineering, as well as our community and the world around us. Nominees must be a licensed PE. 3-4 years of experience in the industry is recommended, with a maximum of 12 years.
This award is intended to encompass professional achievements, while also recognizing a positive, relatable role model for engineers by demonstrating a commitment to service and public outreach. It stretches beyond outstanding technical achievements within the office and extends to outstanding contributions to the engineering community and society as a whole.
ELIGIBILITY Q: Who can nominate someone for a rising star? Anyone can! This person can be your coworker, a fellow committee member, or your mentor/mentee. Q: Who is eligible for the Rising Star Award? The SEA-MW would like to recognize a structural engineer who is positively impacting the profession of structural engineering, as well as our community and the world around us. Nominees must be a licensed PE or SE. Q: Must a nominee hold a professional license? Yes. Nominees must be a licensed PE or SE. Q: Can I re-nominate an old Rising Star Award Recipient? The rising star nomination must be for someone who has not won the Rising Star Award in past years. You may nominate someone who has been nominated but not won. Q: Is there an age range for the Rising Star Award recipient? The candidate should have a minimum of 3-4 years in the industry and a maximum of 12 years. | NOMINATION Q: Can I submit a paper copy of the nomination form?
