VA-TF 1 Force Demonstration

Join us on Saturday, June 17th, for a presentation and hands-on demonstrations by Structural Specialists with Virginia Task Force 1 at the Fairfax Urban Search and Rescue training facility. Task Force members will present on the mission of the Urban Search and Rescue team, the structural engineer’s role in disaster response, and case studies related to the team’s recent deployments. Participants will also get to use search and rescue equipment and put their engineering skills to the test through several real-world scenarios. Space is limited, so be sure to sign up early. All participants must bring their own hard hat, boots, safety glasses, gloves, and wear long pants.

Registration Info: This event is limited to 20 participants. Sign-ups will close on Wednesday, June 7th at 10:00 AM. A waitlist will be enabled. Please notify the event organizer if you cancel your registration, so someone can be accepted from the waitlist.

Location: On Mordor Road at coordinates 38°41'17.4"N 77°14'27.1"W and is adjacent to the Lorton, VA waste facility. Exact directions will be provided closer to the event date.
