Navy Yard Walking Tour
Lately, the Navy Yard neighborhood seems to be changing every day, but this has been a vibrant and dynamic area for centuries: from prosperous pre-colonial settlements, through rapid industrial growth and urban renewal, to the frenzy of development in present day encompassing some of the District's most noteworthy recent buildings. Come join the YMG and the SE3 Committee for a walking tour of sites and stories in Navy Yard!
Along the route, we'll share the history of the neighborhood, and you'll hear about notable buildings from the engineers who helped design and build them. After our 90-minute, 1.5-mile walk (see route below), feel free to join us for drinks near our end point. This event is free and open to all--you don't want to miss it! RSVP preferred but not required.
