Sean Clifton, PE, SE, is a Senior Principal at Magnusson Klemencic Associates (MKA), an award-winning structural/civil engineering firm founded in 1920 with offices in Seattle and Chicago.  He specializes in high-rise structures throughout the US and Internationally and has led the design of more than 50 high-rise projects, many of which used Performance-Based Seismic Design. He also leads the advancement of Performance-Based Wind Design, which aims to enhance safety, reduce costs, and curb embodied carbon of high-rise buildings.

Sharon M. Gallant, P.E., S.E. | Principal | KPFF Consulting Engineers


Sharon Gallant, PE, SE, is a managing principal at KPFF, a nationally recognized structural and civil engineering company with offices throughout the country. Sharon leads the Protective Design practice group, which specializes in hardening of facilities for accidental and intentional explosive effects, progressive collapse, hostile vehicle, and armed attack (i.e., ballistic and forced entry). She has over 30 years of professional structural engineering experience and brings a unique background in both manmade and natural hazard mitigation. Previous to joining KPFF, she was the Project Director at Hinman Consulting Engineers for 10 years and an Associate Principal at Degenkolb Engineers for 15 years where she specialized in seismic and conventional design.

Perry Schram, P.E. | Associate Vice President | Pennoni Associates


Perry serves as associate vice president at Pennoni, a multi-discipline engineering firm, where he is responsible for managing the State College, Pennsylvania, office and serves as principal-in-charge of the firm’s specialty structural engineering services.  Perry has 30 years of experience and is a licensed professional engineer in 21 states. His experience includes an emphasis on structural design and management for a wide range of commercial, institutional, and industrial projects. He is an active member of the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute, where he currently serves as the chair for Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute’s (PCI) Industry Handbook committee and a member of the design standard committee. He was awarded the Leslie D. Martin Award for his work with the previous Industry Handbook edition in 2018.
