  YMG - DC CENTRAL KITCHEN VOLUNTEER EVENT (UPDATED)

  Join YMG for a meaningful and impactful volunteer event at DC Central Kitchen! Help us fight hunger and support the community by preparing nutritious meals for those in need. This hands-on opportunity is a great way to give back while connecting with others engineers.

  Date: April 8th, 2025
  Time: 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
  Location: 2121 First Street SW, 20024 (Buzzard Point neighborhood behind Audi Field)
  The front entrance is on V St between First and 2nd St.

  Dress Code:

  • Long pants (no leggings, no shorts)

  • Closed-toe shoes

  • No tank or halter tops, no dresses

  • Hair must be tied up and out of face (hair nets will be provided)

  • Masks are not required but will be available for those who prefer to wear them

  Spaces are limited, so sign up today and make a difference! Please sign up only if you are certain you can attend, as each spot is essential to ensuring there are enough volunteers for the shift.

  Rebuilding Together

  Rebuilding Together is a nationwide home repair and rehabilitation initiative dedicated to keeping low-income homeowners living in safety, warmth, and independence through volunteer services. On this day, Rebuilding Together teams from all over the country will arrive at their project homes to repair and improve as much as can be done in one day. We would like to have a team of around 20 to 30 people. 

  Organizer: Camille Stefani, Rob Cole, and Ting Wang with Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates.

  Please mark your calendars for Saturday, April 26, 2025. We will send out additional information on the specific work projects and what tools to bring as we get closer to the event data. Rebuilding Together will provide construction materials.
